Leave your Nairobi accommodation and head to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping for gas in Narok Town and at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Not only does the well-known Mara boast enormous herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopards, and cheetahs, but it also has many elephants and almost every kind of species found in Kenya. Drive back to the camp in the evening for dinner and a well-earned overnight stay.
