Day 1 Nairobi - Lake Naivasha
Our driver and office representative will meet you at Nairobi airport. After completing customs procedures and receiving a briefing, you will drive to Lake Naivasha. This lake, situated at 1910m (6200f), boasts fresh water and is surrounded by dense clumps of papyrus, historically used for paper-making by ancient Egyptians. Kingfishers perch on the papyrus, while herons seek prey within it. Naivasha is renowned for birdwatching, with over 400 species recorded. It is also a favored weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who enjoy sailing, water skiing, and fishing. The lake's cool waters prevent crocodiles from residing there, but hippos are often spotted. Along the lakeshore, vineyards produce grapes for Kenya's budding wine industry. There are options to upgrade to more luxurious accommodations (at an additional cost) or downgrade to more budget-friendly options (with a reduced price).

Bird enthusiasts can marvel at nearly 500 recorded species, including 16 types of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.
