OLPAJETA CONSERVANCY

Overview

Ol Pejeta Conservancy lies on the equator, nestled between the Aberdares foothills and the majestic snow-capped Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a remarkable array of animals, including the "Big Five," and features over a thousand different mammals such as the rare black rhino, Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, and Jackson's hartebeest. Bird species also thrive in this protected area.

Arrival

You'll be collected from the airport/Home.

Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.

Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary (270 km, approx 4-5 hours)

Depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Upon arrival, check in at Sweetwaters Serena Camp for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.

Ol Pejeta offers an excellent game viewing experience with the highest game-to-area ratio of any park or reserve in Kenya. The climate is cooler due to its proximity to Mount Kenya, making it a comfortable place to explore.

During the game drive, visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which provides a refuge for orphaned, abandoned, and rescued chimpanzees—the only place in Kenya where this endangered species can be found. Additionally, the sanctuary houses over 110 critically endangered black rhinos and two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos.
