NAKURU
Lake Nakuru NP was founded in 1966 as a haven for endemic birds like flamingos. Its proximity to Nakuru township and the fact that it's fenced off makes it easy to navigate, making it a popular destination for day tours. The park is home to more than 50 animal species and more than 400 species of birds. Lake Nakuru NP helps limit human-wildlife conflict and is a safe sanctuary for the white and black rhinos (who can be easily spotted while on a game drive inside the park).
Our driver will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel as early as 6am in the morning. You will head to Nakuru with a short stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to take some memorable photos. Lake Nakuru National Park was created in 1961 around Lake Nakuru, near Nakuru Town. It is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions, spectacular pink flamingos nesting along the shores. The surface of the shallow lake is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink wildlife. The number of flamingos on the lake varies according to water and food conditions. The best vantage point for viewing the birds is Baboon Cliff.
Upon arrival at the park, you will take off for an amazing game drive and later enjoy a hot lunch at a restaturant After lunch, you will head to Lake Naivasha for a one-hour boat ride. The tour ends late in the afternoon with a drop-off back at your Nairobi hotel.
